Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions ("Agreement") govern the rental of vehicles from Ecoride Rentals ABN ("Ecoride", "we", "our", or "us") to the individual or entity named in the Booking Confirmation ("Renter", "you"). By completing a booking or taking possession of a vehicle, you agree to be bound by this Agreement in its entirety. If you do not agree, do not proceed with the rental.

To rent a vehicle from Ecoride you must:

• Be at least 18 years of age at the time of rental.

• Hold a current, valid Australian driver's licence or an international driver's permit accompanied by your foreign licence.

• Not have more than six (6) demerit points within the preceding 12 months.

• Provide valid photo identification (passport or Australian driver's licence).

• Present a valid credit or debit card in your own name for the security deposit hold.

Additional drivers must meet the same requirements and must be listed on the rental agreement before driving the vehicle. Unlisted drivers are strictly prohibited.

A booking is confirmed only when you receive a written Booking Confirmation from Ecoride. Ecoride reserves the right to decline any booking at its sole discretion. The vehicle specified in the Booking Confirmation will be provided where available; Ecoride may substitute a vehicle of equal or greater category in the event the requested vehicle is unavailable.

The rental period commences at the time of vehicle collection and ends when the vehicle is returned to the agreed location and the keys are handed to an Ecoride representative. The minimum rental period is seven (7) days unless otherwise agreed in writing. Extensions to the rental period must be approved by Ecoride in advance; driving beyond the agreed return date without authorisation constitutes a breach of this Agreement.

You agree to use the vehicle only for lawful purposes and in accordance with all applicable road rules and legislation in Victoria and any other state or territory in which the vehicle is operated. The following are expressly prohibited:

• Use of the vehicle on unsealed or off-road surfaces not designed for standard passenger vehicles.

• Use for the transportation of dangerous or illegal goods.

• Sub-letting, hiring, or otherwise transferring the vehicle to a third party.

• Racing, driver training, or any competitive or speed-testing activities.

• Towing or pushing another vehicle or trailer unless prior written approval has been obtained.

• Driving the vehicle outside of Australia.

The vehicle will be provided with a full tank of fuel and must be returned with a full tank. Failure to return the vehicle with a full tank will result in a refuelling fee being charged, which includes the cost of fuel plus a service fee. Ecoride accepts no liability for mechanical damage caused by the use of incorrect fuel type.

A security deposit hold will be placed on your nominated credit or debit card at the commencement of the rental. The deposit amount is specified in your Booking Confirmation. The hold will be released within five (5) to ten (10) business days of the vehicle being returned, subject to an inspection of the vehicle and settlement of any outstanding charges. Ecoride may deduct from the security deposit any amounts owed including, but not limited to, unpaid rental fees, damage costs, fines, or tolls.

You are responsible for any loss or damage to the vehicle occurring during the rental period, regardless of fault, except to the extent covered by the protection plan selected at the time of booking. In the event of an accident or damage you must:

• Notify Ecoride immediately by telephone.

• Not admit liability to any third party.

• Obtain the names, contact details, and insurance information of all parties involved.

• Provide Ecoride with a written incident report within 24 hours.

Failure to comply with these requirements may render any protection plan void and result in you being held fully liable for all costs.

You are solely responsible for all fines, penalties, tolls, and infringement notices incurred during the rental period. Ecoride will pass on to you any fines or tolls received on your behalf, together with a reasonable administration fee. Ecoride is required by law to disclose your details to relevant authorities upon request.

Cancellations made more than 48 hours prior to the commencement of the rental will receive a full refund. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the rental commencement date will forfeit a cancellation fee equal to one (1) week's rental. No-shows will be charged the full booking amount. Ecoride reserves the right to cancel a booking due to vehicle unavailability and will provide a full refund in such circumstances.

The vehicle must be returned to the agreed location on or before the agreed return date and time. The vehicle must be returned in the same condition as when it was collected, fair wear and tear excepted. Ecoride will conduct a vehicle inspection upon return. If the vehicle is returned after the agreed time without prior authorisation, additional daily rental charges will apply.

This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Victoria, Australia. Any disputes arising under or in connection with this Agreement shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria.

Ecoride reserves the right to update or amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. The version in force at the time of your booking confirmation shall apply to your rental. We encourage you to review these terms prior to each booking.
